Stayed there overnight for a family wedding, arrived with little time to get ready and we had been put on top floor, my mum is 80 and I have arthritis, staff changed us to ground floor room without us even asking, were polite, friendly and could not have asked for more. Did get woken at 2am by other people coming into their rooms, but you can't blame that on the hotel, its others being thoughtless. Breakfast time, the room was lovely and the breakfast was piping hot and beautifully cooked, the gentleman who served us was polite and interested in how our wedding had gone, checkout was while they were still serving breakfasts, I rang the bell and he sprung up from downstairs to attend to us. I'm told the shops are near bye, but if you are going to a wedding at the university The Albany is just a few steps away and perfect for that reason but if I were visiting again for any reason I would certainly stay there again
Breakfast was superb, get up early because the fruit sdalad goes quick. Kippers were great with the best poached eggzs I've had for a long time.the room very bright light at the same time cosy comfortable. Where it is situa\ted is very central to beach historic sites and Golf courses. The staff are very helpful as soon as we arrived James did everything in his power to make us welcome and comfortable.
Very comfortable and well appointed traditional hotel which is well located in the heart of St Andrews. Enjoyed a tasty breakfast in an attractive dining room which can be extended out into the garden in warm weather.
I cosider it to be a very good upgraded B & B type of hotel. A much better experience than when I stayed at St Andrews before in an actual B & B
The room was very small and had stepped levels
Good location in the centre of St Andrews
Closeness to town - clean basic accomadation
Location so close to St. Andrew's University
the hotel was fine, though expensive as it was geared to cater for golf fans. The room was adequate though small. I would think about staying there again if I went to St Andrews.
The staff were pleasant, friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is situated in a quiet area of the town but is extremely convenient for all activities.
Staff very friendly and helpfull without being in your face. Rooms very clean and well kept.
the breakfast;) the very friendly, family- like stuff my view from the window
sorry, but the walls to the other rooms are really thin
Comfortable, very clean room. Friendly helpful staff Spacious balcony with garden furniture.
The staff were so helpful and pleasant. They answered every question we had, called taxis, recommended restaurants and made reservations, in short, did everything possible to make our stay a happy one. The rooms are small (by American standards) but immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The breakfast room is charming and the food is delicious. We will be returning to St. Andrews on a regular basis and The Albany will always be our hotel of choice
Location and convenience of room for 4 golfers is perfect
We stayed in St Andrews for a wedding and stayed at this traditional hotel, our room had a terrace that looked out over a lovely cottage garden, we sat here in the evening and enjoyed cocktails whilst ruminating over the events of the day.
